Tips to Reduce Vermin

High numbers of mice have been recently reported in the Toowoomba region according to the ABC Rural News.

As per section 46 (e) of the General Tenancy Agreement, Tenants are to keep the premises free from pests and vermin.

Tenants should be aware of the evident signs of vermin in your home; droppings, chewing and scratching noises and food items left out that mice/rats have gotten into.

It does happen and the contamination/damage caused requires immediate and urgent attention.

Here are some tips to prevent/treat your vermin issues.

• Examine door entrances and small crevices carefully, use steel wool to block any small holes

• Mousetraps with peanut butter

• Ultrasonic wave devices

• Rid potential food sources, clean the kitchen every night, put food in plastic containers

• Clean up any pet food, bird seed etc that may be attracting mice
